Ingredients :
- 2 cups cut green mango
- 6/8 cups water
- 1 large tomato cut
- 1/2 cup cooked moong dal or tur dal
- 2 -3 tsp cumin and pepper powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- Pinch of hing
- 2 green chilly
- Few sprigs of curry leaves
- Salt to taste
How to make:
- Cut mango with skin. Remove the seeds and boil in two cups of water with a pinch of salt and turmeric
- Once soft remove only the mango ( keep the water do not throw) . Cool and grind the mango pieces to a smooth paste
- In the pan which has the mango boiled water add another 5 cups of water, mango paste,tomato, curry leaves, grated ginger, cumin and pepper powder, slit green chili , hing and salt.
- Let all This come to a boil. Add the cooked dal. Adjust consistency and seasoning. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
- Heat a tsp of ghee and add cumin. Once it splutters, add this on top of the rasam.
- Serve this piping hot rasam as a side with rice or can be served as a soup .
