Ingredients :
- 2-3 medium sized raw mango
- 3/4 cup fresh grated coconut
- 4/5 red chilly ( depending on the type of chilly and spice levels)
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tbsp raw rice
- 1 tbsp jaggery
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
How to make:
- Wash mango well. De- seed mango and cut into medium size pieces. Do not cut very small as they will disintegrate
- Add water, salt and turmeric and cook until soft.
- Grind coconut, chilly, mustard seeds, rice with water to make a paste
- Add this to the boiled mangoes with jaggery and a few curry leaves and boil well till the rawness of the paste goes. Adjust consistency if necessary.
- Season with 1/2 tsp of oil and add mustard seeds to it. Once it splutters add to the sambar.
- Serve hot with rice.
