Ingredients :
- 1 cup yellow moong dal
- 1 cup + 1 tbsp jaggery
- 1.5 cup milk ( boiled and cooled)
- Cardamom powder
- Water
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 tbsp mix of cashew and raisin
How to make:
- In a pan dry roast moong dal till it starts emitting aroma. Then wash it well. Add three cups of water and boil in an open pan till cooked completely. All the water will evaporate and it will become mushy.
- Parallely in another pan add jaggery and 1/2 cup water. Let the jaggery melt completely. Switch off the flame.
- Add this jaggery water to the cooked moong dal and mix well and cook for 5 minutes till all comes together. Add cardamom powder. Remove the kheer off the flame and add milk. Stir well. Do not add milk on the flame as it might split.
- Temper kheer with cashew and raisin roasted in a tsp of ghee.
