Steel cut oats and Yellow moong dal dosa

 

Steel cut oats are higher in fiber than the other types of oats and also has low glycemic index so its preferred to use this variety for better nutritional value

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup steel cut
    oats ( I prefer using steel cut to the normal rolled oats due to higher
    nutrition value)
  • 1 cup yellow
    moong dal
  • ½ cup chana dal
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 2-3 green
    chilly
  • 2-3 tbsp curry
    leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 heap tsp
    jeera
  • Finely chopped
    onion and coriander leaves

How to make:

1.Soak
oats,moong dal and chana dal for 8-10
hours or overnight

2.Discard water
after soaking and grind with chilly, ginger and curry leaves into a smooth
paste like dosa batter.

3. This batter
doesn’t need fermentation

4. Before
making dosas add the cumin, onion and coriander leaves and salt and mix well

5. Heat a dosa
pan. Pour a ladle full and spread the batter with light hands do not press too
much while spreading

6. Cook on both
sides.

7. Serve with
chutney of your choice.

8. Here I
served with spring onion chutney.
