Sharing the recipe of the masala powder used and also the rice preparation with capsicum

 

Capsicum rice using vangibaath powder

Ingredients :

Ingredients for the masala powder

  • 1 cup urad dal
  • 1 cup channa dal
  • 3/4 cup coriander seeds
  • 5/6 dry red chilly
  • 2 inch cinnamon
  • 2 tsp oil

How to make powder

Take 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add the dals, chilly , cinnamon and roast well till the urad dal turn light brown. Cool completely and grind to a fine powder. The vangibaath powder is ready.

Ingredients  For Capsicum Rice

  • 2 cups boiled and cooled rice
  • 1 cup chopped capsicum
  • 8/10 sprigs of curry leaves
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp cashew chopped
  • 4 tbsp vangibaath powder
  • Juice from one lemon sized tamarind ( about half cup)

How to make:

How to make capsicum rice

  1. Put oil in Kadai. Add mustard seeds. Once they splutter add the chopped capsicum, curry leaves, green chilly and salt. Once the capsicum is cooked 3/4th add the tamarind water and cook till the rawness goes which would be about 5 minutes. Then add 4 heap tbsp of vangibaath powder and cook for 5 minutes. Add the cooled rice and salt and give it a good mix to bring the rice and spices together. Check for salt.
  2. Roast few cashews in two tbsp ghee and garnish on the rice .
  3. Serve  this delicious capsicum Baath with raita of your choice.
