Chow Chow Peel Chutney

Ingredients :

  • Peel of 2 chow chow (
    wash very well and then peel)
  • 3 green chilly ( adjust
    spice as per your taste)
  • 5-6 shallots ( else can
    add half an onion)
  • 3 tbsp coriander leaves
  • Fresh coconut 2 tbsp
  • A piece of tamarind
  • 1 tbsp urad dal
  • Pinch of hing/
    asafoetida
  • Salt to taste

How to make:

  1. Peel the chow chow and chop the peel
  2. In a pan add a tsp of oil. Add urad dal and hing. Once done add the peel, green chili and tamarind
  3. When the peel is cooked add coriander leaves.add salt.
  4. Just before switching off the flame add the coconut.
  5. Cool completely and grind with a dash of water if required
  6. Serve as an accompaniment with rice, dosa or Roti.
