Little Millet lemon rice

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup little millet
  • 2 cups water
  • For Tempering
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp groundnut
  • 3-4 green chilly
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Few curry leaves
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste

How to make:

  1. Wash the millet in water 3 or 4 times. Soak for an hour.
  2. In a pan add the soaked millets with 2 cups of water and 1/2 a tsp oil. . Cover and cook on medium flame.
  3. It should take anywhere between 12- 15 minutes to cook and all water to be absorbed.
  4. Once cooked fluff it up with a fork and cool completely
  5. For the tempering  Add oil in. A pan. Add mustard seeds, groundnut. Let the groundnut brown then add the green chilly, curry leaves, salt, and turmeric .
  6. Switch off the flame and add the cooled millet and lemon juice. Mix lightly so as not to mush up the millets. Check for salt.
