Millet Adai with Tomato Mint Chutney

Adai is a southindian form of dosa which is traditionally made with rice and a mix of vegetables . Here I have added fresh moringa leaves tro give it an amazing flavour and lots of health benefits

 

 

Ingredients :

  • 1.5 cup Foxtail Millet (or rice) ( soak for 4 hours)
  • ½ cup Tur Dal ( soak for 4 hours)
  • ½ cup Whole Moong dal (soak for 4 hours)
  • ½ cup Channa dal (soak for 4 hours)
  • ¼ cup Urad Dal (soak for 4 hours)
  • 2 green/red Chilly
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 2/3 tbsp fresh Coriander
  • Salt
  • 1 cup moringa leaves

How to Make Dosa

  • Grind the millet and all the dals along with chili,ginger, coriander and salt into a slightly coarse dosa batter.
  • This dosa should not be ground very smoothly and should be coarse . 
  • Add the moringa leaves just before making dosa.

How to make Chutney

Ingredients for Mint, Tomato and onion Chutney

1 cup mint leaves

2/3 tomatoes chopped

1 onion chopped

1 green chilly

2 tbsp Urad dal

1 small piece of tamarind

Little oil

Salt

In a pan  take a tsp of oil. Add the urad dal. Once light brown add the onions and sauté. When soft add the tomatoes and mint leaves ,tamarind salt and fry till tomatoes are done. Cool and grind into a chutney
