White pumpkin is very
nutritious and hence gives great health benefits when added and fermented with
the dosa batter.
Ingredients :
- 2 cups Raw rice
- ½ cup Urad dal
- 2 cups – White pumpkin peeled and cut into pieces’
- Salt to taste
How to make:
- Soak the rice and urad dal for about 3 hours.
- Cut and dice the pumpkin into small pieces. You can even use the seeds if they are not very big and easily grindable.
- Add the pumpkin and grind for a bit without water then add the rice and urad dal.
- Since the pumpkin is high on water content do not use water unless absolutely essential. A little bit is ok but add water with care.
- Once ground to a smooth paste add salt and ferment for 7/8 hours or over night. Make dosas and enjoy with chutney of your choice . In the picture I have served with Molaga podi (gunpowder as commonly known) , curry leaves powder and turai chutney
